Join the pioneers - Go central!

The new Y-series labels the World's first serial shoe with the unique option to mount your cleats in both, the traditional (metatarsal) position (first third) or the highly efficient mid foot (middle of the shoe) position. Using the same high-tech PU-coated, seamless upper as for our top-of-the-range carbon models, the only difference is the versatile 10mm nylon sole with its twin cleat design. The result: a likewise comfortable and affordable lightweight shoe (220gramms/M).

This is the perfect shoe for those keen to explore the benefits of mid foot cleat placement for themselves or use it as a spare pair without taking the ultimate 'carbon plunge' of our pro-models.

Those athletes with four-bolt cleats will be delighted to hear that yes, its of course possible to mount your system directly onto your Maccies. With a little extra you can save on weight and stack height even more. Contact us parallel to your order.

Also let us know which color your decals should have.

I am giving this review all the way from Townsville, Far North Queensland. I have been having debilitating pain for over 5 years in my forefoot due to some toe deformities due to military service. Despite this deformity, I continued to exercise, a lot, and unfortunately, as noted above, I was in a lot of pain. I almost gave it up! Cycling was the only thing I had left as I no longer run. After some research, I tried some cleat adapters, to get the cleats back somewhat, and while there was a slight improvement, it still wasn't enough relief to be without pain.

I somehow got in touch with Gotz through a referral and found MIDFOOT cycling shoes existed! Ironically, whenever I went to the gym, and I went on the gym bikes, I could place my foot where it was comfortable, and naturally, I always placed my foot on the middle of the pedal. I was over the moon that I found MIDFOOT shoes existed for cycling.

I quickly touched base with Gotz and he was very helpful in terms of helping me pick the correct size. I have been cycling with the shoes for approximately 2 weeks now and my tolerance to ride has increased dramatically. In fact, I can now ride for over an hour without pain! Previously my limit was about 30 - 45mins at the most. If I went anymore than an hour with forefoot shoes I was in a lot of pain! I was certain that surgery was unavoidable if I wanted to continue to cycle but now I can cycle without any worries.

Gotz also helped me with some basic fitting to compliment the midfoot shoes.
He went above and beyond and I really appreciated the help as I come from a competitive basketball background.

I am thrilled to share my review and I am happy to be contacted directly by any potential customers should Gotz think it is appropriate and relevant and you share some similar struggles such as myself.

I can't really explain how pleased I am to have found these shoes. Exercise improves quality of life. My mental health has improved and my lingering army injuries are being well managed due to the endorphin hits I am getting in my sweat pit at home!

All the best fellow Midfoot CYCLERS :)

Since switching to these shoes, my cycling performance has improved significantly. Back problems were also solved. You can see what's still possible at almost 60 years old here, https://www.strava.com/athletes/21140008

Götz and mid foot cycling shoes 😊

I first made contact with Götz's mid foot Maccies in 2010 when I was preparing for 2011 Race Around Ireland, a 2300 kilometre ultra cycling event. I've still been using my original mid foot cleat shoes since then. Each foot has 26 bones and 33 articulating joints and as such the mid foot cleat position offers a much more stable platform for power transfer with more gluteal activation along with improved aerodynamics. Apart front this Götz has been a very supportive friend and is always at hand to advise on all cycling matters. The guy is a wizard when it comes to the body and interaction with the bike. I have no problems at all recommending these shoes.

Great midfoot shoes!

I have ridden the Y-series shoes (white with Atop closure) a few times now. The key benefit is the midfoot cleat position which gives a more stable connection to the pedal. (I wanted to try this position on my road shoes after finding that under-the-arch placement of flat pedals on a long bikepacking ride supported endurance and power.) The Y-series shoes have been comfortable in and out of the saddle, including some harder efforts--the nylon sole is plenty stiff for me. I really appreciate the excellent support from Götz Heine, including his practical advice on fitting cleats to deal with some long-standing foot issues!
